Its great reading all the posts you up. I want you to know that (selfishly) its a great inspiration to me to see and read about your works.
I have been trying to fight this sleepy non-active stage i've been in.
Anyway, I had a friend of mine visiting from Boston - a good friend that i went to art school with and we hit a lot of museums and saw a lot of awesome (and not so awesome) contemporary art.
It was hugely inspiring and the one thing I came out of it with, is that these artisits just worked. They didn't sit and analyze and try to figure things out in their head. (Like me)
Rather they let it all work out on canvas - or whatever they chose as their medium! Some very great work. two of my favourites. Mark Rothko, and Lucien Freud.
Ok, so I am in the process of constructing wood panels to paint on. Actually they are masonite panels that I am bracing so they dont warp. I am also preparing canvases with oil ground so that I have a super smooth base to work on. I like the evenness and shine that comes with this.
So, I have two drawings, waiting to get on these supports.
Thats where i am at right now.
I shall post the progress!

Hey...this sounds like an interesting phase you're getting into. Pleasae share with us what the prep process for the oil ground canvas is. I would love to replicate it here. One of the main reasons I am unable to translate my drawing to canvas is that canvases lack that smoothness that paper has.
Also what is the masonite thingie??
hey poojie, I agree with you about thinking through paint. Thats hugely inspiring and productive. I know the important thing is just to start. I do believe that painting is labour, so whatever medium or surface, its important to just get the act together... thought, surface, piant and hands!!!
