Well the second painting in the series is completed. As I mentioned its inspired by the Rhino Circle (or 'Genda' Circle, genda meaning rhino in Hindi... as its popularly known as..) Its quite amazing to see this sculpture about 12-15 feet horizontally and height about 8
to 10 feet. After, completing the painting last evening, I happened to go to, that side of the city and I saw this sculpture and I realised I have developed a personal bond with it :-) I guess thats the power of re-creation! he he

About my painting, I have posted 3 images of the stages. The unique metal parts have interesting shapes, I dispersed these shapes around the central coherent form of the rhino which I painted in white. The actual image as in the photographs is blackish green. Earlier I painted it in green, with highlights in glittering green. But then after I repeatedly looked at it, I realised that the green was clashing with the other colors, so I changed it to white . As the intention in this painting is mostly to give the subtle variations in color, I thought to make it a little colorful...

nirali, this piece is really quite beautiful. it has so much of detail. although there is so much going on, there is still a feeling of balance. It kind of has a design element to it.
very nice work. amazed at your patient mark making
oh, and i also wanted to say that there is a nice balance of colour as well. very subtle. i like that you have really moved away from the bright colours to subtle secondary colours
yep well balanced is about right. somehow that Genda holds its weight - i like that feeling of solidity you have managed to capture with this work.
Rock on!
yeah this painting I think is one of the better ones...
