WHOLE CANVAS
Well I know you both are traveling over next 2 weeks and wont be posting in, but I'm addicted to this blog. Also, I thought that in the off chance that you might peek in sometime, I could catch your attention. So here is my new work. It's part of my self-portrait series. The jolly idea is that I will have 3 of me in there. Ahhh narcissism at its very finest! Have started off in a stream-of-consciousness mode without planning the composition. But of course I have gotten stuck right here. No panic yet however - letting this painting decide its final avataar for itself. I am rather keen to have the center girl hold the other girls left tit with her left hand. Why? There is a particular early Renaissance painting of a couple that I am referencing, cant find it online, but will try and find it soon and post it up. The man had his hand on his wife's breast. It was so strange and possessive you know. Especially because they were otherwise very staid and formal. Somehow it showed well her 'belonging' to him...and that image is stuck in my head and I want to play it out as I 'belonging' irrevocably to ME.

hey! love the way this new piece is coming together. where is the third image of your narcisstic(sp) self? i think its great to just get into a painting and see where it takes you. thats how i'm working with my new pieces. its quite liberating.
i like the softness of the works.. i would advise you though to start working on the whole painting, instead of quickly adding details, and getting attached to one part of the painting. put in your third self and the painting will move along quite naturally on its own.
good stuff. i really like the colours as well.
how are you coming along on the search for the nude? since you mentioned hand on the breast..
