So, i went to nyc a couple of weekends ago and got to see a great show by one of my favourite contemporary artists - Alan Feltus. Figurative painter who uses his own face in his paintings. Great artist and very inspiring. Check him out if you can on the internet.
The lady that I did the last commission for, wants to have a little summer show at her place on the 7th of August, showcasing some of my work.
I thought that was great of her, and a great opportunity to put some work out there. Lets see how it goes. I really only have some nudes to put up, but I'm going to dig around and see if I can come up with some landscapes as well.
To prep for this show I need to varnish some of the paintings, and get them all framed so they look all clean and professional. I am planning on buying some wood today. Will send you a picture of my first frame once it is completed.
Hopefully I can pull it off, bec then I can frame all my works for future shows and not have to worry about paying someone to do it.
By the way, this is not the same as building the frame support for the canvas - which i have always done myself. This is for the borders - the finished product.
Other than that, still working out 3For show ideas. Thinking of works on paper..
