Dear Girls,
As you people are aware, I showed my works in Baroda this March. Shows in Baroda are like previews. But as the situation in the art market is so bad, that it is quite a struggle for new artists to get solos in art galleries especially in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. So I decided to show my works in Baroda knowing very well that money-wise there is going to be no gain But as art is all abt networking, word of mouth and contacts, I really hope this show will be the first step to establish my career, as Baroda is filled with eminent artists...
And now with alot of appreciation, my works are packed and stored in my house. But I am quite optimistic abt the future... and know I am not alone, as everyone around me is in a similar rut. I am posting few images from my show, which you guys have seen, but I thought it nice to post few of them on the blog.
Arcna, congratulations on your wedding again. I am really sorry, I couldnt make it. It was very unpractical and difficult for me to come. I hope you will understand that I wanted to. Anyway, I hope to be around for your future celebrations like first kid, anniversary etc.
Pooja, I think your son is too too cute. I am so happy you are coming down this December, Iam quite eager to meet Eian.
Love

hey nirali, i really like your pieces! they're really vibrant and alive. they also somewhat look influenced by pointillism - just bec of the drips i think.
another thing i really like is that the entire space in the painting is 'activated'. you have so much going on in the whole painting.
what was the feedback that you got for your work?
i know its sucks not to sell anything, but it is good exposure. i guess it takes time - i guess.
well, lets see how this dec show goes!
Wow! These are amazing!!!! It really kinda tugs at my heart strings and makes me want to head right back into my studio and work wit oils. Girls...it makes me wonder what art is all about...and whether what I am doing is art or just a distraction pulling me away from it all...
hey girls... great to get back.
Poojie, yeah, I liked your comment about the entire space being so activated... I think when there is less of thought and more of action, movement appears rapid. Now I am trying to balance the two.. the feedback I got was very good. Infact next week, I am sending two to three works of mine for a group show in Mumbai. Nothing too big, but something atleast... selling... aahh... hopefully sometime in life ;-)
Arcna, thanks ya for your feedback, you know, I think art is about all what you said in the blog including doing what you feel like doing. Art in todays age is about ideas and you know, sometimes, I think what I am doing is done so many times... and what you are doing is so cool and contemorary!!
